Dr Emily Ng loves her job as an orthodontist (braces/clear aligner specialist). She enjoys creating joyful smiles and forming meaningful relationships with her patients. She starts by listening carefully to each patient’s unique needs and concerns before formulating customised treatment plans to enhance her patient’s smile.
Dr Emily believes that good communication and a gentle approach leads to a comfortable and positive experience. Her cheerful and caring nature allows her to connect easily with patients. In recognition of her outstanding patient care and service, she was awarded the Silver, Gold and Star Awards at the Singapore Health Quality Services Awards from 2017 to 2020.
Dr Emily completed her Bachelor of Dental Surgery at the University of Adelaide in 2012. To provide the highest quality of care, she dedicated three years to a full-time post-graduate residency program at National University of Singapore, under scholarship from National Dental Centre Singapore. She was awarded an Orthodontic Masters with dual accreditation from the Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh. She is a board-certified specialist Orthodontist registered with the Singapore Dental Council and Ministry of Health.
Dr Emily is committed to keeping abreast of latest developments in dentistry to continue providing the best level of care for her patients. For example, she attended a course on facial aesthetics and advanced orthodontics at the prestigious Yonsei University in Seoul, Korea. She has special interest in digital orthodontics, and is an accredited Invisalign provider. Her research project involving digital intra-oral scanner won the Meritorious Award at the 2019 Association of Orthodontists (Singapore) Congress Scientific Poster Competition. Her research has been featured internationally at the American Association of Orthodontics Annual Session (2019).
Dr Emily has extensive training and experience in treating patients of all ages with clear aligners therapy (Invisalign) and conventional braces (metal, ceramic and self-ligating brackets). She also carries out growth modification and interceptive treatment in children. For patients requiring jaw surgery, she works closely with surgeons to carry out the required orthodontic treatment pre- and post-surgery.
Dr Emily received the silver award for the Singhealth Quality Service Award 2023.
Outside of orthodontics, Dr Emily values spending quality time with her husband and two young sons. She enjoys expressing her creativity through origami, wire sculptures and home improvement projects.
