Dr Tan Ching Ching is a Visiting Specialist in Periodontology at Royce Dental Surgery. She is also a Visiting Specialist at the National Dental Centre of Singapore (NDCS). Earlier, she was a Consultant at NDCS.

 

Dr Tan graduated from the National University of Singapore in 2001 with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS). She was on the Dean’s List in the Final Professional Examination and achieved a distinction in Preventive Dentistry. Dr. Tan subsequently completed her specialist training in Periodontology at the National University of Singapore in 2006, through a conjoint examination in Masters of Dental Surgery (MDS) and the Membership in Restorative Dentistry Royal College of Surgeons (MRD RCS) in Edinburgh. She was awarded the IADR Medal for being the best student in Periodontology.

 

Dr. Tan is a Specialist Periodontist registered with the Singapore Dental Council and a Fellow of the Academy of Medicine, Singapore (FAMS). She is also a member of the Singapore Dental Association and the Society of Periodontology (Singapore). She has been in public service for nearly two decades and has restricted her practice to Periodontics since 2006.

 

She was involved in teaching both Dental Surgery Assistants and Oral Health Therapists from 2005 to 2011. She was also a Clinical Lecturer at Faculty of Dentistry, National University of Singapore, from 2009 to 2017, supervising postgradutes undertaking the Periodontology Residency Training Programme in clinics. She received the Singapore Health Quality Service Award (Silver Award) in 2012 and was instrumental in establishing the Geriatric Special Care Dentistry clinic at the National Dental Centre of Singapore in 2015.

 

Dr Tan brings her clinical experience in Periodontics to help patients achieve and maintain healthy gum condition. She has special interests in multidisciplinary treatment planning, periodontal soft/hard tissue regeneration and implant surgery. Outside clinical work, she finds great joy and satisfaction in her role as a mother of four children.
