Dr Tan En En

Endodontist

Dr Tan En En is an accredited specialist in Endodontics. Her practice is restricted to non-surgical and surgical root canal treatment, dental trauma, cracked tooth management and pain management. She is also an adjunct tutor at the National University of Singapore (NUS) where she teaches the undergraduate students.

Dr Tan graduated with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery from NUS in 2012, after which she provided advanced general dentistry in a variety of healthcare settings. These include National Healthcare Group (NHG) polyclinics, School Dental Services, Khoo Teck Puat Hospital, National University Hospital and Singapore Armed Forces. Her keen interest in Endodontics led her to pursue a postgraduate degree and she obtained her Master of Dental Surgery (Endodontics) from NUS in 2019. She was also conferred a Membership in Endodontics from the Royal College of Surgeons (Edinburgh) in the same year. She is a member of the Singapore Dental Association, Singapore Endodontic Society and the Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh.

In 2019, she published her research on the immunomodulatory effect of antibiotics used in regenerative endodontics in the Journal of Endodontics. Prior to private practice, she was an Associate Consultant at Khoo Teck Puat Hospital (KTPH) and her time there exposed her to a wide range of complex endodontic cases. She was also actively involved in the supervision of junior dentists who were managing endodontic cases and helped to run workshops for the dental officers. Together with other specialists at KTPH, she also gave talks for the general dentists.

Dr Tan’s greatest satisfaction in work is to resolve root canal-related pain and discomfort, and believes root canal treatment does not have to be a scary procedure.
