Dental implants are a form of tooth replacement therapy. Instead of wearing dentures or doing a dental bridge to replace missing teeth, a dental implant can be used to replace a single missing tooth or multiple missing teeth.

A dental implant procedure involves the surgical placement of a titanium screw onto the underlying bone and then affixing an attachment (abutment) whereby a dental crown is then cemented onto. The whole procedure should take around 3-6 months, depending on the individual patient’s oral health and bone health. Medisave can be used for covering a partial cost of the dental implant surgery.
